The Alabama Legislative Session approved the proposed Alabama Gold Star Families state license plate on May 15th, 2009.  Minor changes to the design were requested later.  The final License Plate graphic is show above.  The new license plate is available now.

Persons eligible to apply for the AGSF license plate are parents, a spouse, children, siblings, and grandparents, or another person designated by the Department of Defense as the next of kin.  The eligible person should contact the local courthouse in the department that provides motor vehicle tags.  You will need the Casualty Report the military issued when the family member died and your driver's license.

Please note:  If your name is not listed as the next of kin, you will have to sign an affidavit that you are a relative.  Please contact us and we will help you obtain the necessary affidavit.
